Woods blade for snow removal

I just bought a 6 foot Woods back blade to remove the snow from my driveway. Since I have asphalt, I dont want to scrap it up. I've heard about PVC pipe. Anyone done this or something similar. Thanks for your time.
 
I have a neighbor that has a snow removal bussiness. He has two of his trucks equiped with blades with rubber on the bottom instead of steel. He uses those trucks for driveways and parking lots that peoiple are fussy about any marks on pavement.
 
I tried the plastic pipe and I did like how it worked. It jumped over stuff too easy. I found a hard piece of rubber that was an inch thick.( I have since found the rubber strip from Western snow plow company) I bolted it on with a strip of flat iron on the front side to hold it against the replaceable cutting edge. I just got some longer bolts to replace the ones that hold the cutting edge on. I only used about four bolts. I did not make all of the cutting edge bolts go all the way through both. Then when winter is over I just remove the rubber strip.
 
The city of Seatle requires rubber blades on all snow removal equipment because the streets have lots of lane bumpers to guide drivers when they drive in fog. A steel blade will peel the bumpers off the street.
