baling cornstalks

seen alot of cornstalks baled with netwrap, but what about twine? want to use my new holland 486 just not sure how good it will work. thoughts?

I use twine on mine they'll hold together for a about a year outside not sure how long inside. I use mine for bedding the hogs and sheep.

Works great to over winter stock cows, just add a bit of grain, molasses, or soybean meal for energy and protein to keep them in good shape. Used as bedding for fattening cattle, they get a lot out of it too. Used to feed steers on a shelled corn and DoBoy protein pellet program, and steers chewed a lot of bedding too. Good source of roughage to keep the gut working.

Yup. Chain & bar baler, it should go pretty good for you. Stalks are miserable to bale tho....

I use twine. Plastic twine by the way, doesn't work worth a darned. Freezes in and then you've got a mess of plastic in the manure.
