I found this 1030 at an auction about 15 years ago, knowing the next door neighbor needed and was looking for a better tractor. It served him very well and now that he has retired from farming he offered to sell it to me at a very reasonable price. My son actually bought it and it will come home as soon as it gets warmer. I still remember the 1st new 1030 I saw at the local dealer. It was the biggest tractor I"d ever seen and my Dad said, "Who would ever need that big a tractor?" Our biggest tractor at that time was a DC4. Times have sure changed. Don

Who needs a tractor that big. That reminds me of the time a neighbor back in 1953 bought a new John Deere 70; it was the biggest tractor around here when the other tractors were JD/B IHC/h Allis/wd etc.
Now they use them to mow their lawns.

Hi Don,
Yes,I need and want a "1031",I have one spotted, and its shedded, and I sold it to him,but he isnt ready yet to sell,so it sits in a shed.
Yes,I have a great story about "1030"'s,but wont take away from your post.
Glad you brought her home.

It doesn"t look like it but the motor was rebuilt a few years ago and is really a strong runner. The brakes, tires and the seat are the biggest problems. My son Dave has a degree in Economics and insists that most of our tractors be actually used on the farm, which is just fine with me. I think we can farm with our CASE tractors for the next 50 years. That's what they were built for. Don
