My 730 has had an alternator partly installed, the wiring was not finished. Anyway at the front of the motor there are three wires, a large orange wire that is hot all the time, a brown wire that was clipped off, and a green wire that goes elsewhere(lights?) What does the brown wire do? It shows no voltage with the key on or off. Would the large orange wire be the right wire to hook to the output of the alternator? Thanks Mike

the green wire should go to the water temp sending unit, the brown I think should be from the gen light and the orange is a batt wire, yes it can be hooked to output on alt, on my 730 I had the alt set up so I could hook the brown wire up so it works just like on the gen and thlight lights when you turn the key then when it starts charging the light goes out
