case 311 belt pulley

I have a 1956 311, it has a leak around the splined shaft coming out where the belt pully would be. a cover was made to keep stuff from wrapping around the shaft, i finally took the cover off today. There appears to be a seal around the shaft, I looked it up under CaseIH parts and all i could find is a smooth shaft with a tapered end where the belt pully attaches. Question: is this just a different design for the belt pully attachment and where can i find the seal for it? thanks

Stupid question, but have to checked the oil level in the reservoir to make sure you don't have too much oil in it? Not sure about the seal. If you can get a number off the seal, I'm sure Motion Industries or NAPA can probably match it up.

Not a stupid question at all, actually the oil level in the torgue tube is low because all the oil seeps out at this level, i will have to dig into it one of these days. I found a bearing and seal supplier that is about 40 miles from here, hopefully they can match up what i need. thanks for the input.
