Case 1390 - Block Heater

I have to change the block heater on my 1390, it seems the block heater has the same year of the tractor 1983 and placed just behind the fuel line
on left side. So, I take off a small nut (3/8 key)from a threaded shaft at the center of the block around one inches long. What I am suppose to do after, I have tried to turn the shaft, I have tried also to punch it without success.
Help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Loosen nut as far as you can without it coming off the stud that sticks out. tap in the stud a bit to free the stud from the body. Pry the heater out around its edge. Works like a hollow wall anchor.

Most DBs use a "welch plug" rather than the more common "core plug". Welch plugs have a step in their bores which is probably why you couldn't punch it out.
