Case 530 throttle linkage question

I recently purchased an early 60's Case 530 Utility tractor. It must have been maintained by some mad Rube Goldburg type who disconnected all of the hand and foot throttle linkage as well as the governor linkage and ran a boden cable directly to the carb. I want to return the tractor to original condition but don't know how all the linkage hooks up. I made an initial attempt which must be wrong because the "lever to anchor bolt" spring at the rear of the linkage would pull the throttle open and not closed. There is a spring that attaches to the "friction plate" arm. Where does the other end attach? When the hand throttle lever is pushed forward (clockwise) should that open or close the throttle? I am attaching a photo of my initial alignment. Any advice, especially photos of correctly aligned linkage, would be greatly appreciated.

Believe me, I have spent LOTS of time there and other parts websites. Those diagrams show me what the parts are and their relative order of assembly but not their proper operational orientation. For example, does the arm on the friction plate point forward, backward, up, or down when the linkage is at idle. It doesn't tell me what the spring on that arm connects to.

I have the same tractor and am going through the same issues with getting the linkage back to original. How are you making out? As far as correct alignment, I can try to explain how mine is and how it seem to work (or not).

This is correct. This spring pulls the throttle open when you use the hand throttle (by pushing the lever down (counterclockwise)). When you push the lever counterclockwise it relaxes the "throttle lever tension" spring so the "lever to anchor bolt" spring can now pull the throttle open.

Mine is attached to the pin for the rod that goes forward to the governor as it looks like you do in the picture. When the hand throttle is in it's idle position, this "throttle lever tension" spring has tension on it making it act as the foot throttle return spring.

Close, I hope, since that is the only way I can get mine to work.

This system seems to rely on those springs counter-acting each other and everything being nice and clean. And, of course, the governor plays into equation too. I can get the foot throttle to work just fine but I can only get the hand throttle to open the throttle 1/3 - 1/2 speed. I've had to adjust the anchor bolt to almost the end of the threads putting as much tension on that spring as it can.
