I wish I lived close by. I'd like to see that in operation. Where I live, there's very few comgines of any sort. The old timers had cornpickers, tobacco setters and such, but I don't know of anyone near here with a combine or thresher of any sort. I'd just like to experience it, if that makes any sense.

Dan, I'd like to take a closer look at your pickup. I don't think you can tell from my photo but I had quite a bit of trouble with wrapping between the pickup and the canvas when I did oats, not so much with flax. Didn't see any way to move the pickup closer to the canvas or the canvas to the pickup. Don't remember Dad having any such trouble either. I even have a manual telling me how to install the pickup so I'm wondering what the solution to the problem could be. At least it was run just for fun and didn't have to earn its keep!

Is that the one you got from me? If so I'm glad to see it working. I sold the other A6's I had last week. Hopefully one of those will run again some day.

That sure is a nice looking combine!!!
I wish equipment would keep like that around here.
Is that a Allis tractor hidden behind the combine?
Thanks for posting
Nick

Sure is Doug. Works well for the most part. Used the 400 on it because we had some large windrows and the 400 has a nice low first gear. Your 400 is still here and doing what it's supposed to do. Have a power steering unit for it that I hope to get installed soon.

Hi Nick,
Yes,its a 1935 WC,it was a very close friend of mines that is actually in the nursing home.He had pulled it outside, and some years ago,and we made a deal, and I put it back in!I also bought a beautiful "pre64" Winchester "30-30" lever action from him that he bought with little money in about 1961,I really treasure that

Yeah that steering was always an issue, fine if you were moving but very hard to turn if backing something in the shed ect.
