Nick, again I LOVE your collection great shots as always looks like a great show too wish I could have been there thanks for posting cnt tom

I've never seen a cast iron front end weight like the one on the SC. Somebody tell me more about it. Gerald

Thanks for all the pics, what a great variety of those neat v models. That green grass and trees have me longing for summer again. Rod.

Gerald;
These weights were available for SC and DC tractors.They are not very common.
Thanks,Nick

Thanks for the compliments/replies.I have been having computer issues and have not been posting much lately.
Nick

Joe,
Indeed they are and especially to have two of them together. The VAC14 with the charlinn power steering addon is interesting also.
Loren
PS Tim thanks for the pics.

Nick, I have never seen a 1190 in person what are the two levers to the left of the seat by the fender? shift levers? thanks cnt

Casenutty;
The levers are for the transmission ranges.It has 4 ranges.The main gearshift has 3 forwards and 1 reverse.Just the opposite of the hundred and 30 series with triple range and 4 speeds with reverse on the main shifter.
Nick

Nice pics! Nick what is the orange holder thing on the rear of the right fender? ( On the 100 series tractor on the disc plow)

I really appreciate seeing the implements you have collected along with the tractors. I have never seen most of them, other than in pictures in brochures. Thanks for posting! Don

Nick,
I revisited your post tonight, and have a couple of questions.
In pic 8 the exp in the fore ground has the older front clamp brackets for square tube mtg., and is labled late exp, however the one next to it and right of it has a nose casting that would accept engine siderails like a 300. Which is which. A friend of mine who runs a major tractor salvage yard 15m. east of me has VA tug that he restored in industrial yellow, just like the on in your pic.
Last question;; I see a lot of down south Case tractors with the very common grill guard on them. When Case bought DB that guard was available for those tractors, but never knew of any available for the Case built tractors. Were they built locally, and distributed in your market area? The pic I posted is of the Full coverage grill guard that I took off our 990 up on the farm when I refurbished it this past spring. We aquired these directly from Case. and always thought they were a DB thing.
Loren
PS sorry for confusing you with Tim, in earlier post; I always confuse you two in my mind. LOL.

hi loren , you mean you guys dont use the front bumpers hitch in your area ???, i have one on my 430, sure worx great backing wagons with the nose , i wisht i had a couple more tractors with bumpers ,when i was a kid local ford and massey dealers were turning those bumpers loose like standard equipment ... so , by , golly , i guese i am down south , but come january it usually feels like alaska around these parts.. lol

Thanks for posting the photos. There were some pretty unique tractors there. I noticed both the 1951 and the 1952 SC's have hand clutches with the lever on the left side. I would like to have a front weight like the on the 1951 SC. I need more weight up front.

Loren,
I am not sure why the late 300 exp has the VAC style front end casting.The early exp front casting has an experimental casting number and is made to fit the VAC front grill.It's possible that when they made the early exp that they hadn't decided on changing the metal for the new model and when they built the late exp they knew what the new metal was going to look like and just used the VAC front casting instead of making a special run for this tractor.Harry Kline said that they fitted the VAC metal to the tractors to disguise them during testing.
The late exp has a 300 casting # on the block.The early has a VAC (VT-328) casting number.
The late exp has several parts with 300 production casting numbers on them.It also has a lot of experimental castings.
On the early exp there are VAC production casting numbers and all 300 style parts are experimental castings or shop built.
The torque tube,main gearshifter and many other parts on the early exp have a VAC look to them.
I will ask dad about the 1190 bumper.I believe it came from the factory with it.I will see if dad can find the bill of sale to see if the bumper is listed on it.
Nick

Case sold weights for the front wheels,these weights work on pressed steel wheels with j-bolts or you drill and tap the cast wheels to bolt them on.
Here is a link to a set on ebay now.These weights show up on ebay often, there's another set besides these on ebay now.they are heavy so you will want to find a set in your area.

Thanks for the photos. I really like the exp. 300s. Do they have the triple range transmission? I can see the pto clutch. I would like to see a right hand photo and rear if possible of them. Thanks again for the photos.

Jim,
As you can see that the bumper I toot the pic of sure got used AND ABUSED. As I said when the DB came into the Case fold we put them on all the DBs.
