Old Abe came down to earth!

It looks like Old Abe is coming down from the stratosphere. Aumann Auctions gets some of the highest prices and sets records in this hobby, yet this very nice example sold for $4,250.00. I even knew about this sale, so it was well advertised. I think this is a good sign. This hobby should be affordable for us all. Especially considering that I hear of several eagles exchanging hands every year. This is at least number five this year, and I must say, it's the nicest looking one too! I'm really glad to see someone got one reasonable, even if it wasn't me.

That is extremely cheap considering the two on the sale in Minnesota last week brought 11,000 and 12,000 for the other one

Well when the guys that are fush in money spend their bucks. the rest of us who are not in the "game for profit", Might get a chance to get something that we really want for our personal colections at a price we can aford". TV showes like "Pickers" have driven the prices way, out of proportion!

That is still alot of money and that is OK, that way owners will give them proper care and protect them. I just wish people would quite stealing them so owners could display them in public so everyone could enjoy them. Rod.

There have also been several of them stolen lately. I wonder if any of the ones auctioned off were hot?
