Case 445 Orchard Tractor

I would love to talk to nd48. He has an advertisement for a Case 445 Orchard tractor and I just bought one. If you know how to get a hold of him let me know. I would like to buy such an advertisement if anyone else has one. Joe Young said the tractor had been painted but I believe the industrial yellow part is original on mine. The orange or red part has been painted. Joe, can you tell me how you were sure it had been painted or were you talking about the orange part? Thanks for any feedback

I was trading on the tractor about a month ago before walking away. When I pressed the salesman about the tin and paint, he told me the tractor had been repainted. I've not seen the tractor up close, so have no way of verifying.

Yes that's it. The orange paint has been touched up where fluids had been in contact with it but the industrial yellow I don't believe has ever been molested. I've taken the tin off and can't find any evidence of it being painted. (the tin that is) Some others have looked at it as well and agreed. nd48 said his LCK had been the industrial yellow originally which helps make that case (pun intended) I'm by no means an expert like many of you guys who have been around these tractors all your lives. (I take my hat off to the farmers of America) I'm just a city boy but have been working on autos my whole life. If you know nd48 please let him know that I would like to get a copy of his LCK ad. Thanks for your input
 
You're welcome and good luck. You're got a nice little tractor. It looked like it have been very well cared for over the years, and has nearly all the possible options, including the shuttle transmission. Enjoy! - Joe
 
Thanks Joe, I've got to put some exhaust gaskets on the tailpipe and rebuild the P.S. cylinders, replace the seal underneath the steering wheel, adjust the lifters, install my new battery tray, new battery and I'll be ready for a test drive. I'll get everyone some good pics once I'm done. Amazing how fun tractors are. I should have been a farmer.

As I said in my reply to your original post on Tractor Talk, {glade you came over here to our forum} I have a 440. It is the same tractor as yours with different options, or lack of in my Case "pun intended", only us Case guys can say that LOL. Anyway mine WAS PAINTED IND. YELLOW from the plant also, however the belly was painted IH red. (paint options were also available) As I said Case offered many many options for the 4&530s. Mine was a Highway Mower tractor. No PTO, No Hyds, and No 3pt. It was equiped with the Dual Range trans, and ag tires, (14.9x24 rears + 7.50x16 fronts), with the LCK front axle, like yours. All the mower functions, were hyd., and powered by a crank driven pump on the front. of the tractor. I have a Kubota B2150 with 13.6x16 peanut tread rears and 10.50 x12 fronts and they will bolt directly onto the 440, giving it the same "stance" your tractor has.

PS Have fun with your 445, LCK, not an "orchard " as that designation would have sweep full coverage rear fenders to keep the tree limbs from catching in the tires etc. Keep us posted on your progress, with pics.

Thanks for the photo, I've been busy with work but breaking away and working on the 445 every chance I get. I've ordered a number of parts and have some of them installed. Sure is nice to see another photo, your tractor looks great. Should have mine put back together soon and I'm looking forward to the first photos after its cleaned up. Joe Young posted some photos of my tractor before I bought it on one of his replies. Miss my old 430 diesel but this tractor is in a lot better shape so I'll be able to put up with the gas just fine. Was silver the standard paint on rims? Mine are Case orange or red and look to be original paint. ND offered a copy of some 445 ads and I'm going to call him tomorrow and take him up on that. Seems like old Case tractors are not very common in Oklahoma, any thoughts on that.
