Case 1370 clutch

On a case 1370 when you push the clutch in, is the motor supposed to bog down for a second or 2? Also when you push the clutch in is the trans pressure gauge supposed to go in the read but then pop right back into the green? Is this bad or just normal?

in my humble opinion, all you described is completely normal. When you depress the clutch pedal, the reverse clutch pack disengages, (I think.) I have a 1090, 1370, 2390, 2590& 4690, they all perform the same way, for many years I might add. Just my 2c worth.

Actually when you press the clutch C4 applies and stops the Powershift clutch drum causing the planetary to rotate in a direction that gives you reverse in combination with c2. The surge in rpm and a slight ringing noise would be perfectly normal as would be a quick pressure drop. When it stays down is when we worry. mEl

What is wrong if it stays down? On one of my Case 1370 the transmissions-oil pressure sometimes stays low, and if the powershift is in "R" it sometimes stay low after I let the clutch-pedal up, and the tractor dont move. But only sometimes! Sometimes it works fine. The problem started last year, but I noticed it less often this year. I gues it happend every other time last year.
If I press the gas-pedal down a little the pressure goes up and the tractor starts moving.
I-ve heard that i could be som problem with the C4 clutch inside the powershift, but could it be some problem in the valves on the right side?
