Buying Advice

Hi all, I am looking at a 1988 Case International
485 4x4, with loader. It has 1668 hours and the ad
says it runs well. They are asking $8700 for it.
Is that a decent deal? More importantly what about
parts availability? Is there any thing I should know
about this tractor?
Thanks
Zeek

Parts will not be a problem for many years. These tractors were built in England. They will last around 1200- 2000 hours on a clutch ,depending on the operator, and maybe less with a loader.I had a 585 with loader new in 87' , sold it at 1500hr ,new owner replaced the clutch at 1800hrs and again at 2700 hrs. If the tractor you are looking at has a shuttle shift, I would think they would be better. Bruce
