730 Case Heater Question

We don't have a manual for our 730 so I figured maybe one of you guys might know the function of the "heater" on our 730 case.

I'm talking about on the ignition switch, you can either turn it to the right to start the tractor, and if you turn it to the left it says "heater".

What exactly does it do??

I tried turn the key left and appeared to do nothing, it just springs back similar to when turn the key to the right.

Thanks

If it's diesel the heater side of switch activates the manifold
heater for easier starting in cold weather. If you look at
manifold it should have a heavy guage wire running from a
solenoid to heater in the side of manifold. To check if it's
working hold switch in heat position for a 10 to 20 count and
see if its gets warm, but don't use manifold heater with
ether. Scott
