Dexta rear main seal?

what all does one need to do to change the rear main seal in a Dexta? How long should it take?

How long it takes will depend on you and how adept you are at taking it apart. You have to split the tractor in half. You will need something to support the front half and the back half, so that you can split it and still keep the pieces lined up. If you are doing it for a rear main seal, I would wait until the tractor needed a clutch. Unless it is leaking a lot. My super dexta 2000 had a leaking rear seal when I bought it. I had the engine completely rebuilt, new sleeves, new pistons, etc. They replaced the seal in it. Within a few months, the rear seal started leaking again. It leaked like that for another 5 years, until the clutch went out. I replaced the clutch in it, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and I put a new rear main seal in it. A few months after that, my leak was back again. I owned the tractor for over 15 years, and the seal always had a small leak. Good Luck with yours, Bob
