F Carburetor ID

I"m trying to piece together a 1920s(?) F from an estate, I hope someone can assist me. The garage containing the tractor is packed full of things, and this F is missing its carburetor. The carb may be in the garage somewhere but I"m unsure what a carb for this F looks like.

From what little I know of Fordson Fs, the carbs depend on the manifold type, yes? Attached is a shot of the block and the manifold. Can someone help me with what carb this F might have, and if possible, upload a photograph or web link where I might see what the proper carb looks like?

If its any help, the gas tank is the two-bung type; embossed with "Fordson, Ford Motor Company Detroit USA" by the steering wheel.

Thanks very much. Dave

There is a whole lot more model N there than there is of a model F. The carb for that manifold was made by Zenith but I can not remember the model of the carb at this time.
Thanks
Ken

Hi. I would say that is a Model N Kerosene/TVO manifold. You will need a vapouriser plate. It bolts onto the four holes in the outside of the manifold. The Carb for that manifold is the same as on the Fordson E27N. Last time I checked there were plenty around. I have a reasopnable operators manual for the N as issued by fordson with the tractor and an after market workshop manual. Anything you need I'm more than happy to copy and send to you. You will(should) find the tractor #no on the clutch housing. The workshop manual is available at www.old20.com latest cost I have is £8.00 thats about $11.00 plus shipping etc. If you get a problem come back to me I'll check it out and ship one to you. It will be cheaper for you to do it direct. Anything else I can maybe help with just ask. Something to do to hide away on Christmas day??? Mike

Your tractor appears to be an Irish model N 1928-1932. The manifold is the correct gasoline manifold with a two hole mounting flange which takes a Zenith gasoline carburetor. I think that your gasoline tank may have been replaced at one time with an earlier model F tank.
