MM UB mishap

This is what I did to my father's MM UB at the Father's Day pull this year (youtube link below). Forgot to flip on the electric fan switch when I started it and blew a frost plug out between the heads. Lovely.

A $40 thermal switch would have prevented that...I have one in mine and I also have a manual override toggle switch as well...looked like a good run though.

Yeah, it will get the thermal switch soon. It was a tractor we bought with a 403 already in it that was ready to hook and has been a blast to pull. Never really thought about the fan as long as we were careful but missed it this time. Engine developed a knock in it last Fall and needs to be torn down anyway. I idiot proofed one of my other tractors a long time ago with the thermal switch, so it never crossed my mind. As Homer would say, "Doh!"

Saw one of those freeze plugs come out at a pull years ago. Drove a piece of wood like a shim between the heads to hold it in. Filled it back up with water and pulled another class.
