Been a few years since iv had a crank welded and went with a local guy the last time. Just curious to know what prices are everywhere else.

Thanks

here in ohio, couple years ago 3/4 stroke on a 4 cylinder 1300. and that was after giving a break on the price.

Give this guy a call. 402-654-2217 he did a 9.25 for me for a lot better price than these guys are talking and he's good.

That's not a easy question to answer with the little info given. There's a big difference between a 2 inch stroke b John Deere and a 2 inch g John Deere. Time it takes to Weld and grind and balance is a whole lot more on the bigger, wider g crank. When it comes to cranks cheapest isn't usually the best.

Ok.. Looking to have a 4.5 inch 4 cylinder crank stroked to 5.75 inch. Or a 4 inch 6 cylinder stroked to 5.50 inch.

I had a 6" crank taken out to 7.25" for $900. The big Minnies run them as well as some good sized Farmall M pullers. I've not heard of one breaking. Hapco does dozens if not hundreds of cranks. Some of the big name engine builders are pretty happy with what they got.

The machine shop here is 250 to do the offset grinding and about $100 per crankpin to weld, but a little more for extreme welding work.

I have a couple allis cranks done a year and it's usually $750 to get them to 5.75 and 6" . I have a couple there right now and one of them is just to go on the shelf or sell.

I dont believe in pricing someone elses work . However I do believe that a crank thats done on a gleason m2 or m3 crank machine would be worth more than one thats not. The gleason m2 and m3 have two welding wires and ease of switching from the hard journal wire to the softer radius wire wich gives the crank better ability to flex and not crack as if it was done on a one wire machine where a guy doesnt take the time or expeditures to have and change wire back and forth.
