This is on an auction tomorrow. 525 Bean Special. Not much on the sale except real estate and a few pieces of equipment. Got a strong hunch it will bring one bid more than the scrappers want to pay. Has the spring cylinder, bucket elevators, flathead 6. Good paint and sheet metal, just needs rear steering tires.

Is it worth any more than scrap? Trying to decide whether to go to the sale or not.

I"d hate to see it get scrapped. But I tried hard to sell a really nice 7300 with 3 heads, and ended up getting less than scrap price to see it go to a good home.

525's are awesome little machines. Mine will run circles around my buddys JD 3300 and its better on fuel even with a bigger engine and more HP. Ive never seen a edible bean special so that one is kinda rare. Must have been one of the last ones built since it has a green cab. I gave $1100 for mine with a grain table, and 2 and 3 row corn heads. My buddy just bought one for $750 with just the table so I would guess you would be somewhere in that range.

Ya,I've got a 7300,passed up the neighbors 525 with a rasp cylinder a few years ago on his auction. That one brought $575 and was closer to home. I'd hate to see this one scrapped too,I'm just bulging at the seems as to places to keep this stuff. It's closer to Counterclockwise,I wish he'd go rescue it so I don't have to.

My brother told me about that sale and the combine that is listed. He's even closer than me, but neither of us has room (or need) for a combine.

I didn't make it up there today either. Was getting the 1365 ready for paint. Louis was going I guess. I'll find out from him what it brought.
