hydraulic filters

What are people doing to replace the hydraulic filter under the tractor seat on the 550? Are there some generic filters commonly sold for this application? I saw a filter advertised as selling for 66 dollars, can this even be close to the actual cost?

CarQuest filters, eh? What number, do you remember what number the filter was listed under? Or, did you just say it was for an Oliver 550 and they chased it down and provided it for you?

I have been getting mine at AGCO dealer. They are a fiber type filter. I think I paid about $20 for the last one I bought. I would sure be interested if they are available elsewhere.
Also there is a breather filter for the transmission and one for the hyd. system. I know one is obsolete, can"t remember which. a guy could always just make one of them from some foam or filter paper. Good Luck.

Go to your NAPA dealer and ask to look at either the 3110 or the 1092. One is for a 2 1/2" filter and the other is for a 6" filter.
