thinking of building a moline u what is the largest bore that will fit in a u jug, boring and resleeving is ok just need size of what works. Thanks

I'm not a Moline guy but I think 4.81" from Welters is the biggest.

4.81 is the biggest you can go in a stock 4 5/8" jug. Your U jug is 4 1/4" to start with. 6" is attainable with solid recast jugs. I always wanted to try for 6.125 but could'nt bring myself to part with all the time and money. I have some very nice Ross pistons in the 4.81 size and several recast solid jugs that I would sell. If you're going to use the stock U jugs, 4.375 is about all you will get without sleeves. If you want to get to 4.81, you will want to use jugs off of a 504 or later 336, they were 4.625 to start with so there's more to work with. I've heard of guys boring those out to the water jackets and then sleeving them.

Boring and resleeving can get you 5.75 inches, but not sure if that's what you were asking about.
