Oliver 1850 runs rough

Ok folks, I have an Oliver 1850 gasser that runs rough. It idles
pretty choppy and don't run smooth. When I first got the old girl
she ran smooth as new ( last season). Now it just plain runs
rough. Instead of a smooth idle it'll puff a little and runs rough.
Seems like a carb problem but with some adjustments seems
worse. Has recent plugs and wires. Anybody know
approximate carb settings? Thanks.

You probably simply have a slug of water in your gas. Drain your old fuel and add a couple of gallons of fresh. Then clean your sediment bowl if equipped and add a bottle of gas dryer. Take the tractor for a cruise around the pasture. If you had water in the gas this should make it run normal.

Ethanol fuel only has a shelf live of maybe 3 months under ideal conditions. On top that, it is a water sponge, it will absorb 50 tp 60 times more water than 100% pure gas.

Don't take too many things apart at once. You just don't want to fix anything that doesn't need it.

Good luck!
