can anyone give me a little history on the red white & blue Olivers & MM tractors from the early 1970's thanks

the 17-1955 red white and blues? well i have seen a 1755 and a 1955. i can't remember exactly but it was for some promotional thing, i can't remember exactly. still i believe the person that owns these two is on this forum.

ok i just looked up a little on this and i was right that it was a promotional deal from oliver. it was called the heritage tractor, it was to symbolize how farmers have gone from plowing with a walking plow to what they have now. someone with a little more knowledge might be able to make it sound more poetic.

Yep there called the Heritage Series. Theses were built just before they change to the White line. I found this pic in the vintage adds on here. I have only seen one of theses tractor in my life. I would like to have one for sure. Bandit

Yes the red, white and blue Heritage tractors was a promotion by the company. There were MM tractors with the color scheme in addition to the Olivers.  The tractors were painted in the factory with the red paint that was being used on the Cockshutt tractors. The white and blue stripes was a reflectorized decal material that came in rolls.

The customer that purchased one of the Heritage tractors was given a 30' flag pole and a large U. S. flag.

I was working in one of the companies branches at the time and had rolls of the white and blue decals in my office.  It has long been gone, wish I had saved some of it.  I don't think that there is any documentation in the build cards to know how many were produced.

They also had the 1655 in that series. We had one at the dealership for a while. I have a picture around here some where of it parked next to an Oliver 70 that was used one year to farm 40 acres and then parked. The 70 is still in the neighborhood. The 1655 is not.

thanks for pic and info did they make any toys with that paint job ? i've got a case spirit of 76 posted some pics over on case forum
