1755 hydraulic filter

Hi guys, Is there any thing I need to know before changing the hydraulic filter and fluid in my 1755 diesel? Is it like my 1850 where it will purge the air out of the system on its own? Do I just hook up a hose to the remote outlet and let it pump out?
 
No, No. Your 1755 filter is located between the reservoir and the hydraulic pump. Drain for the system is on the bottom of the filter. Takes an allen wrench. Let the Oil drain and remove filter can, There is also a bleed screw on the filter head, make sure it is open when you refill the unit Make sure all the air is out of the system before closing bleed screw. Look in your Operators manual.
 
The only way to change the filter without draining the entire hydraulic system would be to turn the tractor upside-down. However, there was someone who posted here quite some time ago that installed a valve between the reservoir and the filter.

Before you drain the oil, make sure the canister is clean. Depending how long it has been it may be a sob to get the filter tube that holds the canister broke loose. Seems like it takes about an 1 1/2" wrench to remove. After removal clean all of the parts with a good solvent and blow dry. Lube all the seals before reassembly.

If I remember right you will need to have about ten gallons of hydraulic oil on hand.
