Oliver Hart-Parr 70 buying tips and value?

I"m looking at a 1936 or 1937 HP70 row crop. Motor is loose, tin is good but is missing side shields and lights. Tires are junk, good cast grille, fenders, and old faded paint/rust.

What"s this worth?

What should I watch out for?

i would say 500 at the max with junk tires, unless it has the 40 or 42 inch (i forget which it is) back rims then its worth more if i remember right

I don't want to sound like a smart-alic, but what something is worth depends on how much you are willing to pay. The question should be what are they selling for? It depends on how much one wants a lawn ornament. In my time I have seen them sell for anywhere from $50.00 up to ridiculous prices.

I'd say they were worth a little more than the styled ones made a little later. They tend to bring a little more around here on the rare ocasion that they come up for sale. $600 I think was about what the last two rough ones brought that I saw sell. I've got a styled 39 in the back corner of the toolshed that I just can't fall in love with, but I'd like to restore a 37 back to looking like this one that my uncle had. 8x40 duals on that one.

The only new 40" tire you can get are 9" I believe, so original 40" wheels are not to desireable any more.
I've never seen a rowcrop model in restored condition bring over about $3500.00 tops. Wheatland, Orchard or wide fronts seem to bring a few more dollars.
I agree with the other posts. For a rowcrop N/F loose engine not running and bad tires, $500.00 tops.
