Ron: I posted an answer to your hand clutch question now on page 5 but I forgot to ask you if you had a picture or two of that hand clutch linkage?

Ron; I replied to your hand clutch question now on page 5. I forgot to ask if you could post a picture or 2 of that clutch handle and was it from the factory? Modifications on older tractors (factory equiped or retrofit) would be enteresting to see at the shows because they enabled a few farmers to remain active in farming and therefore are a part of the history of farming. Anybody have any pictures or recollections of these attatchments that they would care to share? Armand

My 1957 Parts book for the 77/Super77 includes the optional hand clutch. It indicates this option will work on all 77/Super 77 serial numbers. The special parts for the hand clutch are identified with a "K" prefix indicating they were initially designed for the 88 tractors. I can"t comment on whether the same hardware would apply to the 66 tractors. I would expect that most if not all would be common to all three tractor series.
Does anyone know if the optional hand clutch replaced the foot clutch or that both clutchs remained functional when installed. I don"t remember ever seeing a hand clutch installed. My family was an OLiver dealer in Iowa 46-52 and I worked the summer of 52 in the engineering department at Charles City.

(I saw this the other day and I forgot to verify.)

I saw a picture somewhere of that hand clutch but I don't remember where.

I believe if you look the newer style pedal there is a second somewhat smaller hole above where the clutch rod hooks into the foot pedal.

I am under the impression that is where that hand clutch hooks in and the foot pedal remains in service. I had seen that hole in the pedal before and the picture seemed to explain its purpose.

I will have to look but I don't think the fleet lines have this extra hole. I have seen the newer pedal on the older tractors so maybe you had to change it to use the hand clutch on the fleet lines.

RT (my 2 cents.)

Hi, Armand, there was a hand clutch unit on e-bay for $200 a week or so ago. Don't know if it's still there or not. Chris
