Sleeve installation

I'm ready to install the sleeves back into the 770 block. What to use for lube? Mineral oil? White Grease? oil?? Also anything to watch out for?

Liquid soap is the prefered lube,but when I put my Super 55 together this past summer,my son who does this stuff for a living told me to use plumbers pipe dope paste like you'd use for pipe fittings. It'll harden up and keep the o-rings from leaking for sure. My block was pretty rough and it hasn't leaked. That stuff's pretty slippery and they went right in with no problem.

I had a real bad time with an 88 till I tried crisco.

The O rings at the bottom of the sleeves arent suppose to contact anything with petroleum in it. So no oil. I always use dishsoap and cover the the bottom of the sleeve in it. Occasionally slight tapping is needed. Havent had a problem yet.
