Cockshutt 40 Questions

I don't know Cockshutts well as all mine are Green. I am looking at a 1957 model 40 Tricycle Nice paint, good rubber, rebuilt engine some years ago, owner got from father-in- law who bought it new. Has the 2 cylinders under the engine that worked the loader still attached, no loader. Overall looks good, What is a fair price? Even a ballpark. I have not been able to find anything to compare on this site or on Tractor house. Owner seems firm on 4k Thanks for any help

4k is way too much. A cockshutt 40 is only worth about 1500 to 2000 compaired on condition.

Where can you even think of buying a good running -good paint -good tires 40 for 2 grand?No where that I have seen. I'll take one today.CASH -100 dollar bills. $3500.00 would be the going price in my part of the country.

I saw that 40 Cockshutt on Craigs List...It isnt selling because its worth about $3000-3500 tops..I recently paid under 3K for a running E-4 Coop that had an older restoration..

5 weeks ago I watched a WF 40 with fenders sell on a sale for $2250..It had always been shedded..The engine was stuck but otherwise it was pretty decent with good sheet metal and tires...It sold on the high side..

Yeah ,,,, $3500.00 in my part of the country to,$1500.00 if the engine was stuck etc.
