1755 hydraulics

Hi guys,
I am combining beans with a pull type combine on a 1755 diesel. The hydraulics are too fast and jumpy for raising and lowering the head. Can someone descripe in detail what and where I need to adjust the hyraulics to slow them down. I really appreciate any and all help. The more detailed you can be the better. Thanks a ton.

On the back of the valve bank is a screw with a jam nut on it. The one that goes to the hoses you're using is the one you need to adjust. Loosen the nut and turn it in to make it a smoother/slower drop. Out to do the opposite.

Not sure there is much that can be done about the fast raising other than feathering the controls, unless you maybe use a bigger (diameter) cyinder that takes more oil to fill and extend.

If I remember correctly you can also restrict the inlet flow. I take it you do not have a book. Does your combine have "skid plates"? Can the header be set to float.

You can also buy a flow limiting fitting to put in between the hose and cylinder. Instead of having a full-size hole, it has a tiny hole.
