1250 Cockshutt

I have a 1250 gas Cockshutt tractor with a Fiat engine. It has the 24 volt system. It will run for about a half hour then starts to chug and quit. It seems as soon as it heats up it does this. Any ideas besides driving it into a swamp.
Thanks.

Check to see if you have fuel to the lift pump. I have had this problem on a 1255 Oliver and also on a 5040 Allis which has the Fiat engine. Both times the fuel line was blocked by what looked like matted hair. Once cleaned out they ran fine.

Where are you located? I was trying to help a man in Ohio and lost his phone number. One thing I would check is valve clearance. They have a small clearance and as the valves and seats wear clearance the clearance and then valves are held open and it will not run. I would like to talk to you more about your tractor. How about an e-mail address. I always liked those little tractors. J.

I am in Canada, I like the tractor it came with a solid front loader and bucket. I removed the fly wheel off the back this spring to make it safer to teach my son how to operate. I noticed last year if it ran for a while or worked it hard that it would start to chug like its starved for fuel. I thought maybe its a float issue or a pluged fuel filter. I still think it might be a carb issue.

Hey James,
Where abouts did you find the clog in the fuel line. Between the tank and the filter or after the filter. I have cleaned out the clear glass sediment jar and ran a few cans of seafoam.
