D-17 series

How can I tell if the D17 I just purchased is a series IV or not? Thanks

If there is a hydraulic pump on the right side where there would otherwise be a belt pulley hole as on older tractors, that would indicate a series 4.

In case you want to also know whether it is a series I, II or III.

series 4..serial number 75001 -89213. As was previously stated it has a more modern, low pressure high volume, side mount hydraulic pump...similar to the pumps of today. The D-17 IV lived on in the 170 & 175 tractors. The heavy duty 3pt with traction control was essentially unchanged from '64 to '80.
