Allis Chalmers 175 hydraulic shaft repair.

This is on an Allis Chalmers 175 diesel,
Does anyone have a fix for this hydraulic driveshaft from the engine crank to the hydraulic pump. I was concerned it was going to be expensive BUT it turns out the flange with isolation dampeners and the shaft, pto splined on one end, are no longer available at my local AGCO dealer
I am looking for ideas. I thought about having it bored out and new shaft made and welded to the hub, but I don't know how true it would run after welding.
Looking for ideas from any body that has done this repair or any machinist with ideas about retro fitting this hub and shaft.

I will address your question as if this tractor were mine.

1) First, I would try to find a good used one, which maybe hard to do. If I could not the next thing I would do is this…

2) I would start getting pieces to make a new shaft assembly. I believe a shaft assembly 12-13” long is available on the market (Surplus center) I would turn down this shaft to duplicate the original.

3) The center hub that mounts on the crank, I would bore/mill out the center and buy a 6 spline weld center and repair the splined part. This piece will need to be carefully welded in place to assure strength. I may also opt to find that piece used since it is critical as the drive unit.

There is also the option provided you could find the 6 spline broach of making the hub piece completely new from 4140 pre-hard or similar steel.

P.S. you can not whave the spline area welded to the hub the crank needs a little play that the spline provides. Its better to copy what you have.

just my thoughts

I thought the shaft may need to float in hub. I was able to locate a shaft at a different AGCO dealer. Looking to maybe bore out hub as you suggested.
I also got some other ideas on the tractor talk forum as I posted it there.

If it's a 3/4" -6 spline connecter, search google, I found this on
Ebay, while looking for something else, search
masontractoronline(Ebay seller name) part # 54C2055. Hope it
helps.

I assume you are in Kentucky, I do not have the contact information but the Boarman Brothers near Utica Ky are really good at working on Allis Chalmers if you need someone.

Project is on temporary hold for now, I am in hospital right now. Nothing too serious, just going to be out on commission for a few days.

I have the hub and shaft available new, gas and diesel versions
