Hey, just got a D19 with the inline 6 gas, motor is done for its in need of a full overhaul which will alone be as much as a 5.9. Is it possible to keep the frame in tact and still slide a 5.9 in there?

I think you would have more room if you stick with 301 diesel motor out of and old gleaner combine. A cummins will be hard on your drive train with all the torque they put out when lugging engine. But hey each to there own.Scott

hey, thanks for the reply, The problem with using the gleaner motor is it would cost me a ton more. Im not looking to lug it to much im just wanting it for looks and to mainly use the pulley for saws, threshers, line shafts.

The 301 would be LOTS easier to install. A 301 will easily bolt to the torque tube with a set of 190 XT frame rails, you"re going to need good fab skills for the Cummins...

You must be gettin some cheap cummins engines. I have seen gleaner combines with good 301 engines sell for under 1000 for the whole combine. I bought an F2 a few years ago with a 301, for $1500 and used it for 2 yrs. The guy I sold it to is still using it. You could buy one of those and scrap the rest of the combine and almost have a free engine.
