Hay rake model 78

I have a allis chalmers model 78 hay rake. I works quite well but I ran into a problem. When I want to crank and raise the rake the part the hand crank goes through is stripped. I took it apart and the piece seems to be brass. Can you obtain this part any where or have other people had this problem and how did you fix it. Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

We just but a nut of the same size ahead of the old nut to hold it in place. Only problem is you have to have a wrench to hold it in place when you raise or lower it.
