This is the continuing saga of my 1942 Allis Chalmers C. I have the back wheels off, and it looks like while I do I should replace rear axle oil seals since there is quite a bit of oil leaked onto the rear wheels.
I do have the service manual and parts manual, but after 70 years, some things do not come apart like the manual says they will. Is there any trick I should know about taking off the flanged rear axle and replacing the oil seals? Looks like there is a spacer seal (part 295510) and an oil seal (part 206459). Where can I purchase them? And, anything else I should look for or check on while I have the flanged rear axle off?
Thanks in advance.
