I have a 1957 d14. When i parked the tractor a couple months ago it moved fine. We had snow in october i went out to plow the snow the tractor ran fine but would not move forward or backwards when moving the power director...All oils seem fine..i tried it again several days later when warmer still no movement(i thought something may have been frozen). I was reading these post when i noticed some of you describing a high, neutral and low position....when it was working fine i moved the lever forward and the tractor moved forward when i moved the lever to the rear position the tractor moved in reverse....in any gear 1-4...i have only owned this tractor a short time..is this normal? What could be my problem?? Thanks in advance for any replys..this is a great forum

Shounds like you have a shuttle clutch in stead of a power director. Is the handle on the left side? Most suttle clutchs are on the left side. Push the handle forward you should go forward pull back is reverse. Andy

I forgot to mention that this tractor has a loader on the front...the power lever is on the left so...does the lever set screw work loose on these as well?? I hope to tear into it this weekend..thanks for the reply

Update on the d14....A rats nest LOL...a mouse had made a huge nest in the engine clutch area..the throw out bearing could not release due to fabric wrapped around the tranny imput shaft...Shes moving again!!! Thanks for all the input.. Pooreboy
