Allis Chalmers versus Oliver 1365

I have an Oliver 1365 tractor. It's harder and harder getting parts. I've been told that the Allis Chalmers Model 5050 is nothing more that an Oliver 1365 with different body. That replacement parts are the same. Is this true?

Yes & No. Where are you trying to get your parts? Rick Stairs is a good source for parts for the Fiat built tractors. Your A-C is built in Romania and was built are an agreement with Fiat. How can I contact you? I worked for an Oliver dealer and this is nou utility tractor country but those Fiat units are tough tractors.

I can't answer your question. I can only offer some info. Back in the day when I worked at the dealership, we sold several 5040's and 5050's.
The 5040, as stated below, was a Fiat design, made in Romania under license. It appeared crude, but gave little trouble, except for the starter.
The 5050 was built by Fiat, and the "fit and finish" appeared much nicer.
I've seen the little Olivers, and I think Long, and Hesston, all being the same "basic" tractor. So I'm sure there are possiblities for you out there, just be careful. Because it's never as simple as it should be!
