i just aquired a wd and it leaks between the rear end and the hand clutch housing, any idea where it would be coming from? i took the battery box and clutch cover off and cant really see where it would be coming from. it had hytran in it. so i drained it all out, i'm gonna removed the pto shaft housing and flush the clutch housing out since it had slude in it. the clutch is supposed to be in 90w gear oil right?

I have had hytran in my WD45 for the past 30 years with no problem. The only thing with gear lube in it is the final drives.
Leaks are kinda hard to pinpoint without pressure washing the whole thing off. Then it might need to be split to replace gaskets.

It's got tobe the gasket between the over center clutch housing, and the transmission. I split my wd45, to replace the overcenter clutch, and feel I know how they are made. Fron your discription of the leak location, I don't see how it can be anything else. They originally used 20 wt oil in that area, but I have had Hytran in mine for 12 yrs, and have no problems, other than clutch adjustment.
