military 44 massy engine

I have a army corps of engineers massy 44. it has wrong engine(a 4cyl over head value). I need a complete engine(I-244). does anyone out there have one or know of one. thanks

phone 1-912-865-2278 after 6pm est. and I willreturn call or email

The standard engine in the Massey Harris 44 was the Continental H-260 which is an over head valve 4 cylinder. The 44-6 had a Continental flat head 6.

I"m guessing you have an I244 tractor which is different from a 44. Most of the I244s were made for USN and USAF, but I think there were some in last group which were USA Corps of Engr. There may have been 44"s for CoE, which may have had the H260 4 cyl.

But if what you have is an I244 - you are looking for a Continental F244 engine. While not exactly correct, they were also used in some Combines (Oliver comes to mind) and in forklifts and air compressors.

Same as the F226 used in the 44-6 except for displacement (bore?). There was also a later F245 which was same but different crank I think.

If he does not take you up on offer, I too am looking for an F244 - would settle for an F226 in running condition close to southeast Louisiana or Birmingham, AL

yes I am interested if it is close to correct engine for army corps of engineer tractor. please connect me thanks
