FUEL PROBLEM

I have Algae in my fuel on my 231S. It clogs my filter. I have removed the tank for cleaning but am concerned for my other tractor which is a 243. Is there an algae killer additive that I can put in the 243 to prevent a clog up filter? Thanks in advance for your response!

NAPA sells a 'bio kleenz' ...which is a corny name for something they charge $120 a gallon for. A pint does go a long way in a diesel tractor or 2, but I took delivery of 700 gallons of algae in my home heating oil... that is a problem that doesn't go away quickly...
Like my furnace, you should burn as much as you can, or in your case with just a few gallons, keep it in jugs to clean parts. Yes, empty the tank, change the filters, buy several filters, add the algaecide to fresh fuel, but that is not the end of your filter changes, you will swap them twice more before the problem clears up. But as a diesel owner... unless they repeal the low sulpher BS, you will be buying algaecide for the rest of your life, so get used to it.
