MH 44 oil pump--David-G and others

How DID you get the gear off the shaft to rebuild the pump?? And get the stub shaft out of the housing?? I am ascared to put it in the press for it might Crack in Half.. There is also alot of endplay on the big gear shaft (60 Thousands) Please include other details of the OPump rebuild Bushings ETC. We got the Kit. . Thanks Ollie

I have a small 3 jaw puller that I used to pull the gear off with, I did not press it off. The counter shaft should press put easily. I had the most trouble getting the relief parts out.

I sanded the housing down by rubbing on emery on top of plate glass.

Important note, do not lose the sleeve that goes between the block and the front main cap to carry oil between them.

You will need a lathe and a piece of 3/8 pipe if you lose it, BTDT.
