Need to replace pto clutch on MF175. What is the easiest way to separate MF175... as shade tree mechanic..never did this before..How do I support both sections and then separate the tractor..This will be done outside no hydralic lifts available..thks.

I just support the rear with blocks and roll the front out with a floor jack.

Don't forget to wedge both sides of the front axle so that it cannot roll.

I use a stack of sockets and washers held together with 1/4" ready rod to make an alignment tool.

When re-assembling take your time and do not try to force it. It can take a few tries to get splines back together, that last 1/2" when reconnecting the front and rear.

Thks. JP for you input... I was trying to termine if
I should move the rear away or the front...

If you've never done one before, have someone there who has. A flat level smooth spot, not under a tree limb, but roller jack under rear half, front end wedged up front so the engine doesn't fall on either front axle, and get a GMC/Chevy pick up truck clutch aligning tool- $3 plactic one is fine. Better than steel ones.
