It only took a year and an hour

A friend of mine has a spare power steering column for a Hundred Series Ford.
Last year we robbed some parts out of the hydraulic block to use them in another tractor.
I ordered new ones from the dealer at the time but the parts just sat on the shelf since then.
I finally got around to installing them yesterday. It took about an hour.
When I opened the USPS flat rate box the invoice was there along with the springs and seals.
The date on it was 1/06/12

You are doing better than I am on some things. I found some parts yesterday while working on some hydraulic pumps that I have had since the late 1990s. The bad part is I had forgotten I had them and have boughten others several times.

In 1986 I took the head off my Farmall H and had the valves ground an head shaved. It sat on my work bench until last winter when I finally got "rountoit" and got the old gal running again. Hey, thats only 25 years!!!

I bought new clutch discs for the driveline clutch on my JD baler 6 years ago, I think they were like $60 bucks, there still sitting in my tool chest.! Now that the baler is inside this winter, Maybe I will put them in. Prolly not though! Lol

I've got a whole drawer full of new gaskets, seals and odds and ends I bought for some project or another but never used them. I caught myself buying them new again when I got around to doing that project so I finally made a list of what I have in the drawer and go to that before ordering new. Wonder what it would cost to replace that whole bunch.

We built our farm shop in 1977. We had a big I beam installed in the ceiling that spanned the 30' side. Always intended to build a trolley for the chain hoist, for years the hoist just hung in one spot by a length of log chain. I finally built the trolley, and got it up in 2007.

30 years. But I got it done!

I have a HD 10 sitting in my shop for 27 years, now waiting on adapter to put the Hydraulic pump back on the front of motor. Cousin Ben Brown says the earth will tilt on it's axis when I drive it out the door. Maybe this spring.
