did anyone make a tree saw attachment for a gravely walk behind?

have some brush to clear and this seems to make sense for me. brush is too big for small tractor and bush hog. a lot of stooping with a chain saw.

Click on link below, start by looking at manuals listings in resources section then check out rest of links listed in resources,if such an attachment was made website would be best source of info.

Gee, I know where a walk behind Gravely with the roto plow , cultivator, rotory mower is located . I can remember doing some rod line clearing of heavy weeds & brush at his oil leases for him when I was a teenager. But I can not be sure of whether it was a sickle bar or saw blade attachment he had put on the Gravely .It was definitely a neat set-up back then . I will make a note to try getting in contact with the son because that sweet ole guy past away yrs ago . He was very rich , but worked very hard for his money . Rhe man was very kind to my X & I in many wats . But he also had a tuff / ruling shell to crack at timrs .If I c an possibly get it & if the tractor itself is shot , maybe we can get a deal going . But don't get your hopes up too high or too quickly until I makr contact . If you are interested & this sounds good to you . Send me your email address & I'll let you know his answer ASAP . Rhe son is willing to part with some things , but his Mother is still living & definitely rules that roost . How do I know this ? Well when he was a small boy , my X wife was their house cleaner & baby sitter of the son .So I often was around there either clearing brush or mowing the yard . The boy had a very large Lionel train layout that we played with when possible . Well the son is around 48 by now , & I asked him about all that layout & train stuff . I couldn't believe it when he said he'd give it all to me . So we met at his Moms house so I could pick it all up . Boy Mom about blew a plug when he told her what we was doing there . Needless to say , I will have to wait to see if she out lives me or not. TeeHee ! God bless , Ken

Gravely made both circular saw and chainsaw attachments.
The chainsaw used a chain size that hasn't been manufactured for at least 30 years. The circular saw attachment was basically a 30 mower with a saw blade rather than a mower blade. The early models didn't have any guard. Later models had a guard that looked like a cut off 30" mower deck.

Both look scary as heck to use. I think that both were made for cutting trees---not brush.

Yes, Gravely had a 30" saw attachment. Went on the drive unit for the 30" mower. I don't see why they wouldn't work for cutting brush. Scary? All in the eye of the beholder. I've also cut a LOT of brush with the sickle bar. Geared wheels are a big help, need to go slow.
