collage of plow day pics

I made these collages up from the plow day we attended last month. Took a print of each collage to a local spot where a lot of the retired guys gather for a coffee klatch, so they can all see their tractors/plows in action.

Kept a red/orange page and green page so collages would not look like frogs in a blender. LOL.

I put all the photos (125+) on a disk so they can take the disk home and save any they wish to their computers. I will do the same with video clips of the day - just have not had time to edit all the videos yet.

Next goal is to make them a DVD they can play on their TV's combining all the photos and video clips... maybe set it to music. First have to download MS Movie Maker. A project for this winter.

Very nice pics. I usually burn all my pics to a DVD. Then, if we get company, i'll put the DVD in the playstation and we can view them on the flatscreen TV.

Pretty neet Ms Feet.........

How'd you make that? Something free on the net or you have a special program? Or is it an ancient chinese secret that ya ain't gonna tell me about???

It's something the 8020's used a fully mounted 8 bottom. Imagine if the detent was set too fast and dropped the plow like a rock!

SweetFeet,
Those collages are awesome! I wish I could get my wife more interested in farm life like you are. Thank you for sharing these pics.

Very talented! You mentioned on another post that the monster JD with all the plows hanging behind it looked like some prehistoric monster, Puff the Magic Dragon, maybe?

ShadetreeRet,
Thanks!
It does remind me of a dinosaur. You may be right, could be Puff... he used to live by the sea, but maybe moved to the midwest to retire. LOL.

Kow Farmer,
Thanks! Love to share photos.

I did not used to have nearly as much interest in tractors or shows...both of us were too busy working full time and chasing kids (plus husband used to farm our 80 and raise hogs).

I really got interested in tractors a couple years ago - when we started the search for an old, rusty Regular. Once we found her in the woods, I started taking pictures by the hundreds...THEN I WAS HOOKED! In my former life, I did not know a magneto from a carburetor or a head from a manifold. Youngest kids are now teenagers and we have a little more time to hang out together doing things we both enjoy.

flying belgian,
3 16's...that is all the more a Malibu can pull. LOL.

The car is included because one of the men inside it is very ill (so another guy brought him out so he could watch the plowing and visit with everybody). So I wanted to include him in the collage.

gtractorfan,
The 8020 really impressive looking. We have seen it at a few shows.

For some reason he could not plow that day. He tried, but the ground was really hard and something went wrong. He backed up and gave it a second try, but she would not go in the ground - so he parked it and let the guys with the little, old tractors do the plowing.

Dave2,

ANCIENT CHINESE SECRET: shhhhh, don't tell anyone :)

I have MS Office Professional... so have Publisher and PowerPoint. I inserted and cropped photos and then set the page up in Publisher the way I wanted it to look (used a cropped section of plowed ground for the background). Then selected/copy/pasted the entire page of photos into a PowerPoint slide...then click on format picture tab: select the soft edges option (I think the default is 10% softening). Then selected all again and popped it back into Publisher - which transfers it back as one photo. Then saved it as a jpeg. Last, I used Corel to reduce the size for posting because it was a big file.

You may be able able to do the same thing in Word or even in the PowerPoint - not sure, never tried.

Can also do the same thing with Corel photo software... but is a more time consuming process. Plus, my working palette in that program is smaller than an 8.5x11 Publisher page - so that is why I used Publisher.

Fergienewbee,
It was really fun. And it was neat because at times, all the tractors were plowing at once. They had a couple lands started... so tractors and plows were going no matter which way you looked. Kind of like large ants crawling all over an anthill.

Daryl PA,
Thanks!
Will have to keep the DVD tip in mind, that would be neat to see on our TV since the screen is quite a bit larger than my computer screen.

rrlund,
I thought it was neat too. Wish I could have snapped him plowing, but he was on the far side of the field - so too far away. Then he parked it, so I never got a chance for a plowing close up.

I love the pics. A little bit of info, I did a movie of pictures with some music. Didn't have any movie clips to throw in. I did it in Windows Movie Maker. Now I have a Mac and it is a little easier to do that on here. If you'd like i'll post a link to my video.

FullersFarmalls,

Thanks!

Sure, post a link to your video!

I have a friend who made a video with MS Movie Maker, using both video clips and photographs of our daughter's wedding. Photos are set to music. Video clips each play their own sound. Might have to ask her for a lesson or two on using the software.

Thanks! Just showed your pic to the old bat and got an "Oh, that's easy, you don't know how to do it??" Sometimes, I just wanna choke the sh!t outta that woman

Dave2,
Now, you know that'll get you into hot water.

Instead call her an old bat... and give her this picture. Then you can call her an old bat whenever you want and she won't mind. :)
