I just bought a J.D. 60 and plan to change all the fluids before winter. What fluids go where? Is the engine oil non detergent or just regular motor oil? What type of oil goes in the live pto housing? Thanks!

You would be wise to purchase an owner's manual for your tractor. It not only explains what fluid to use but where it goes, how much to use and how often to change.
Plus you get info on the proper adjustments and proper adjustments that are needed.
If you are a new tractor owner, in my opinion, it is very important to buy, study, & use the owner's manual.
Good luck.

The nice folks at 1-800-522-7448 will assist with either a hard copy or CD operator"s and/or service manual.
When draining the live pto. Check for stinky and thick transmission oil. If the pto clutch is contaminated , the clutch packs witl slip and the glue break down.
Either split the tractor and replace the pro shaft seals after ensuring the shaft is not scored. Or run Shell Rotella 50 wt motor oil in the transmission and pto clutch.
If no leak into the pto clutch. Use Hy-Gard in the pto.
If anybody tells you to use non detergent oil in the engine. Kick their behind and toss them out.
Use Autolite 3116 plugs and solid core wires. Keep the coolant temp at least 180F and 195F is better.
