have you ever used the shot shell loads in your 45 acp? i have some that i use when down in arkansas, they make an excellent snake load.

I had some shot shells for my 357 and I agree they would be OK for snakes, if they were close! I tried shooting a grouse last week with them and at 10 yards they seem inefective.

No. I don"t go looking for snakes. Luckily, we rarely see any poisonous snakes. James saw one copperhead down in the bottom this year. It had a close encounter of the fatal kind with a 5 ft finishing mower.

Last snake I saw was a pretty large spotted king snake. He"s a good guy and I left him alone.

Nancy what you have according to my loading manual is the Colt revolver cartrige. My box says 45 Long Colt but my book says that the 45 Colt is the same cartrige. TC contender makes a very fine Single shot pistol that is chambered for both the 45 Long Colt and the 410 shotgun shell. Not reccomended for people with small hands as it kicks like a mule.
