Ice covered garden this morning

Well for the last 3 days they have said frost/freeze warning. Well the first 2 days we did not get any frost or a freeze but this morning we did. I had turned on the sprinkler last night and the garden was covered in ice. Odd sight to see but at least it looks like I may have saved most of the garden so I can keep it going for a couple more weeks. The tomato plants had already pretty much died back due to the dry weather but the pepper plants are still doing well. 5 different types of pepper plants by the way 3 hot 2 sweet. Green beans also look like they will make it

I know it won't be long for a killing frost here too. My tomatoes just took a nose dive, all green and producing well, but that solid week of off/on rain, 90%-100% humidity, literally ruined them all. I had a late crop come up from seed in the soil, lush green plants green with tomatoes, looks like the blight, and any other tomatoes, had a few varieties and later plantings which I can usually enjoy late season, as I am on a hill with a garden patch facing south, almost full sun, stays warm, can tarp it over easily to protect from frost.

My bell, jalepeno, banana, and 2 other types are doing well, some of the red bell peppers are not as good as last year for some reason, the wall thickness is not as thick or full of pulp/meat, others seem up to par, those red ones are loaded with Vitamin C, time for some spicy venison sausage and garden peppers and onions.

Well that is a yes and no sort of thing. Yes for the most part the problem will be gone but there is still the mold to think about. One nice thing is that the ticks will be fewer and now that we have had a frost I might think about bow hunting

23 degrees F here this morning. Water hose to pasture spurted ice chunks when we tried to water the sheep!
