Hello I have a 849 round baler, the bearing on the bottom roller is out on the left side (looking at the hitch end) is this bearing a special bearing ( sold only by New Holland ) or a common bearing ? I have not taken it apart yet I am letting penitrating oil soak in the sproket and I can't tell by looking at the bearing holder. Thanks Bryan

It is probably just a common bearing available at most bearing supply places. It is too much work and too much cost for manufacturers to design and buy custom bearings.

When I first started to work for AC, they sent me to the parts dept. to help out. I took bulk bearings out of a barrel and put them in AC boxes to sell at a higher price. Sometimes the bearings that you buy at a bearing supply house have better shields on both sided than the bearings used by the manufacturer.

The bearing is common.

However, look at the axle it rides on; they oftentimes tear away from the drum.

Some parts desriptions for the baler bearings on New Holland's parts website will provide you with the dimensions / measurements of the bearing itself.
