beans are done

finished up sunday. really suprised on the yields, 53 bu ac/ about 10 % moisture. drought hit the corn really hard n-central il. really dusty tho. few pics. swmbo is up there supervising in the buddy seat.

Great photos.Love the cub, and W-9. It is hard to believe those unloading augers can handle that weight without braces.
 
'Couple questions.....what does "swmbo" stand for? Is there a child riding along with you guys also?

Nice photos....sure wish you didn't have to run such "junk" for harvest.
 
I know nothing about soybeans, so this is a request for information, not a criticism.

Is that about the optimum spacing for the rows? Seems like a lot of empty space between rows. But maybe if they're too crowded you run into diminished yield or grade? Or more likely to run out of moisture in a dry year?
 
Glennster if I am not mistaken you own and operate a body shop and a wrecker service full time? Is that correct and farm on the side? Is that your combine or is it a custom operator ? I did not think that you farmed that much ground on the side to own a combine that big and that new. How many acre of corn and beans to you farm on the side?
